Kevin and DK also go against the fandom a little in their mutual admiration of Krillin as a character. For first viewers, what happens in these episodes defies Shounen storytelling tropes in an unprecedented way that still hits hard for new viewers to this day... including DK's girlfriend who was at the edge of her seat through all of this.
